The KSL provides the following guidance in accordance with BC Soccer recommendations:
- 38C or higher -> EXTREME RISK : postpone or abandon the match
- 32C – 37C -> HIGH RISK: multiple water breaks per half, mandatory shortened games, teams encouraged to bring shade devices, lots of water, sub often etc.
- 28C – 31C -> MODERATE RISK : consider shortened games, at least 1 water break per half, teams encouraged to bring shade devices, lots of water, sub often etc.
PROCEDURE: Game status will be determined two (2) hours in advance of kick-off and based on the projected temperature at kickoff time.
e.g. Game time is 7pm. At 5pm, the game status will be determined and communicated based on the project temperature at 7pm (using Weather Network data).
PLAYERS – Above all, you need to make the right call for yourself as an individual. DO NOT play if you personally feel the conditions are not right for you.
